Folks in an around the Memphis area, get ready for one of the more ambitious professional wrestling projects this area has seen in a long time.
On March 22, 2014, Pokerface Events will present Millington Mayhem, sponsored by Homer Skelton Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep at USA Stadium in Millington, Tenn.
The event is set to feature an afternoon and evening of entertainment, including professional wrestling, along with activities for children and the entire family. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Talent for the wrestling card, ticket prices and locations, bell time and activities will be released in the coming weeks.
When I say “ambitious,” I mean it. Pokerface Events Owner Quenton “Pokerface” Williams is no stranger to the independent wrestling scene in these parts, but this is his first time promoting his own event. And he’s doing it outdoors. In a 5,000-seat baseball stadium. Oh, and it will also be the first wrestling event in the history of USA Stadium, which served as the home of USA Baseball from 1986-96. The man’s dreaming big.
I know for a fact Quenton has already been out the past several months busting his tail to promote this thing. He knows he’s taking a risk by running an outdoor show in the spring in such a large venue. He’s also a realist and realizes he isn’t likely to fill every seat in the place. However, he’s out there promoting it in an effort to do so. Pass Me the Mike is proud to be a part of the promotional team for the inaugural event and you’d better believe I’ll be there on March 22.
Additional sponsors for the event include Solid Foundation Contractors, Inc., Applebee’s and INSOUTH Bank in Millington; and America’s Incredible Pizza Company and Spectacular Skin, Inc. in Memphis.
Sponsorships are still available for Millington Mayhem. For additional information, visit pokerfaceevents.com, or contact Williams at (561) 285.7653 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
