Wahoo McDaniel vs. Magnum TA (NWA Worldwide: March 30, 1985)
Three months after entering the Mid-Atlantic territory from Mid-South, Magnum TA gets a massive victory, defeating Wahoo McDaniel for the NWA United States Heavyweight Title.
Here, we have another televised cage match with a crowd that was READY for this one. I love Wahoo for the simple fact that he was a mean, nasty, tough-as-hell ass kicker (even when he was a babyface). Magnum beating him gave him all the credibility he needed in that area.
Magnum would drop the title to Tully Blanchard in July, which would eventually lead to their historic “I Quit” match inside a cage at Starrcade ‘85.
